Investcorp closed its second North American private equity fund at $1.22bn, exceeding its $1.1bn target by 11%. The fund targets growing middle-market services businesses in North America. The close represents a 63% increase over the firm's debut North American PE fund, which raised approximately $750m in 2020.

The 63% step-up from Fund I to Fund II places Investcorp in the upper half of middle-market managers successfully scaling debut vehicles — comparable to Ridgemont Equity Partners, which grew from $1bn in 2019 to $1.65bn in 2022, or Golub Capital's expansion from $1.75bn to $2.75bn across consecutive funds. The oversubscription suggests LPs view Investcorp's Gulf-to-North-America capital bridge as differentiated in a crowded middle-market field, though the firm's fund-count advantage (fewer than ten North American PE funds versus hundreds for US-native managers) makes it harder to assess performance consistency.

The raise arrives as middle-market services businesses face bifurcating exit multiples — vertical software and specialized healthcare trades remain elevated, while generic business services dealflow has compressed 15–20% from 2021 peaks. Investcorp's ability to deploy $1.22bn into middle-market services over a likely three- to four-year investment period will test whether the firm can source proprietary deal flow at disciplined entry multiples, or whether a larger fund size pushes it into competitive auctions at the upper end of its middle-market definition.
